Q-Gen is a fully-integrated facility for translational research within the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane (QIMR).  Q-Gen specialises in the manufacture of cell products for immunotherapies at GMP grade.  Our cellular therapy laboratories comprise eight clean rooms with individual anterooms, air pressure control and equipment monitored by a Data Acquisition System (DAS).  The facility also comprises a cytotoxic room, cryostorage rooms, a microbiology laboratory, a quarantine area and a GMP store.  Access to all rooms is strictly controlled.

Services for cell therapy at Q-Gen include laboratory maintenance, stock control, preparation and review of documentation, GMP training of operators, QC testing and validation, cryopreservation and storage, and general project management activities.  Our expertise is complemented by QIMRs Human Research Ethics Committee.

In collaboration with QIMR and external researchers, Q-Gen has built a solid track record in adoptive T-cell therapies for Phase I clinical trials.  In addition, Q-Gen was the site of manufacture of the first human embryonic stem cell line to be generated under cGMP.

Q-Gen holds a TGA licence for the preparation and maintenance of cell banks.
